'A sailing club run by sailors, for sailors.'

The Association

The WCA is an Unincorporated Association of Members with Trustees and a Committee as set out in its Constitution.

Our Association was founded in 1967 and our constitution states that

"The object for which The Association is formed is to promote and facilitate the sport of yachting and also to promote social and other facilities for members as may be from time to time determined."

Less formally, the WCA is a club run by sailors for sailors. We meet most weekends on Lake Windermere in the English Lake District for a mixture of Racing, Sailing and Socials.

Our calendar is split into two programmes, a Summer Series and a Winter Series. Summer sailing is more socially oriented and relaxed, whereas the Winter is oriented around more competitive sailing organised as open events to attract competitors from near and far to sail with us,

We welcome new members - the first step is simply to make contact with our Membership Secretary (using the simple form below) who will then follow up with you directly. Remember, we all did it once!

There's never been a better time to sail a yacht on Lake Windermere - England's largest lake.
