2023 IRC GBR Inland Championships Race Day 2
Light wind race
A tricky forecast saw us in the North lake again with the wind dropping just as we set up. One race of one lap was all we could manage - having used Lima to add a 15 minute time limit to reach the windward mark. As it happened this was more than sufficient, and all but one boat managed to finish within the overall timeout set by the first finisher.
Some learning for the Race Management team about using the radio for OCS, Frankie did return but lost some time waiting for confirmation, and SC1 sailed on and were scored OCS. As explained in The Boathouse afterwards, we'll make sure to call out OCS boats over VHF from now on.
All in all a bit of a frustrating day, but light wind days are part of the challenge and congratulations to Game of Thrones and Alchemy who mastered the conditions.
